Consultant Salary £96,963 £128,841 per annum

Plus Distant Islands Allowance of £1,279 per annum

We are inviting applications for the post of Consultant Radiologist at the Western Isles Hospital. This fixed term post (1 year) is for a full time Locum Consultant Radiologist, 10 PAs.  For more information on living and working in the Western Isles visit the website: http://www.wihb.scot.nhs.uk/wihrr.pdf.

 The successful applicant will have responsibility for providing a comprehensive clinical radiology service for NHS Western Isles including the ongoing development and consolidation of a robust governance program.

With a range of general skills, youll be able to demonstrate good communication and leadership abilities and be able to manage, motivate and lead the Radiology team. The sustainability of this singlehanded post is ensured by an Obligate Network, currently supported by NHS Borders, who provide out of hours and leave cover, peer support and second opinion.

Whilst duties can be based at the Western Isles Hospital in Stornoway, this post has the potential for a proportion of the job planned time being worked remotely.

Applicants will be expected to have a wide range of experience in Radiology and possess the Fellowship of the Royal College of Radiologists or equivalent. The successful candidate would be expected to undertake work in all imaging modalities offered by the department and support radiographer role development and associated education provision.

If you do not hold permanent residential status in the UK or an EU, EEA or Switzerland passport, you must be eligible to apply under the current immigration process for this post. It is your responsibility to ensure your eligibility and entitlement to work in the UK in line with UK Border Agency/Immigration rules and regulations. NHS Western Isles cannot guarantee that a certificate of sponsorship could be obtained.

The successful applicant will be required to register with the PVG (Protecting Vulnerable Groups) Scheme.

The post is not eligible for relocation expenses.
