Salary £96,963 £128,841 per annum

plus Distant Island Allowance £1,279 per annum

The post is for 10 PAs (8 DCC PAs + 2 SPAs) plus 2 EPAs per week (in acknowledgement of on-call availability) subject to agreement of a satisfactory job plan plus an 8% availability allowance. We would welcome full time or job share candidates in applying for this post. The Terms and Conditions of service are those determined by the New Consultant Contract (Scotland) 2004.

We are inviting applications for the post of Consultant General Surgeon. Applicants must be on the GMC Specialist Register, with License to Practice, or be eligible for inclusion on the Specialist Register within 6 months of the date of interview. Applicants would be fully supported whilst working toward this. We are also willing to consider applications for a Job Share.

You will be based in Western Isles Hospital in Stornoway, a modern 97-bed Rural General Hospital (Plus). Working in the largest of Scotlands islands offers a unique opportunity to combine modern and progressive clinical practice with a lifestyle that is difficult to match.
