Finance Manager with progression to Finance Director

Meraki Talent are exclusively supporting with the appointment of a permanent Finance Manager based in Edinburgh paying £65,000 - £75,000 plus excellent bonus, pension & benefits.

The Opportunity

This cutting edge technology business is one of absolute strength due to it’s rich history of performance & excellence, it’s product/service diversification and finally it’s global reach. The Director of Finance is looking to appoint a Finance Manager that is capable of becoming their successor within the next 4-5 years.

The Role

The Finance Manager needs to have strong financial accounting principles, but completely motivated and obsessed about adding value. The Director of Finance wants to provide the Finance Manager with the perfect platform and bandwidth for success so initially this role won’t involve people management responsibilities, however once embedded this role will progress to a Head of Finance/Financial Controller to take responsibility for the team, and then laterally moving to the Director of Finance in 4-5 years time.

The key components of the role will include:

Commercial & Operational Duties:

·      Aiding direction, decision making, strategy and business planning through business partnering

·      Production and presentation of monthly reporting packs

·      Reviewing and development  of MI, data and monthly management accountings process

·      KPI setting and reporting

·      Commercial and financial analysis – sales, OPEX, CAPEX, margins, investment appraisal

·      Variance analysis with ability to understand & challenge variances

·      Leading and championing high profile process improvement projects – processes, procedures, controls, systems & automation

·      Cashflow forecasting and analysis

Financial Accounting Duties:

·      Feeding into annual audit process including liaising with External Auditors

·      Supporting the Financial Accountant with preparation of statutory accounts and returns, taxation returns & compliance

·      Assisting wider finance function with:

o  Balance sheet integrity & reconciliations

o  Intercompany transactions

o  Ensuring robust month and year-end

o  Ledger maintenance

o  Payroll
