Full Job Description

Clinical Fellow Post in GENERAL SURGERY (General Surgery/OG/HPB/Colorectal and breast)

Applications are invited for a clinical fellow post for NHS Tayside available from 7th August 2024 until 5th August 2025

The post will be based in Ninewells Hospital in Dundee and Perth Royal Infirmary. The post holder will be required to work under the supervision of consultant staff in the management of emergency General Surgical and elective general and breast patients.  The post holder will contribute to a 24/7 registrar rota. 

The appointees will be expected to perform at a level equivalent to that of at least CT1.

The posts are aimed at doctors actively preparing for an application to core surgical training National Selection commencing August 2025.

There will be contribution to emergency duties in General Surgery at Ninewells Hospital Dundee, coupled with compensatory days off.  The other weeks will involve elective surgical work in the Department of Breast Surgery in Ninewells Hospital and Perth Royal Infirmary.

 Clinical fellows are assigned an educational supervisor and have assessments completed through ISCP. The post is of high educational value and can provide portfolio requirements for further applications.
