About The College:
Stow College was opened in 1934. It is named after David Stow, who started the first fully-equipped teacher training college in Glasgow.

The College has 2 campuses, one near the city centre and one, Stow West, in Maryhill.

It runs courses leading to qualifications including Highers, National Certificates, National Qualifications, Higher National Certificates and Higher National Diplomas.

It is an Associate College of Glasgow Caledonian University and the University of Paisley. This gives students good opportunities to progress.

      • Engineering Technology

      • Management and General Education

      • Music and Creative Studies

      • Pathways, Access and Highers

      • Science and Health
Students may take part in exchange visits to European countries.

Support for learning
The Hub provides learning support for all students.
Staff members run tutorials in maths, English and IT. They offer one-to-one support to any student with study problems.
They give extended learning support to students with disabilities or special learning needs, including dyslexia and visual, hearing or physical impairments.
In the flexible learning centre, students can use learning packages with tutor support.

Child care
The College offers child care support to full-time and part-time students. Eligible students can receive financial assistance to help pay for nursery places, childminding or after-school care.

Mature entrants
Mature students are welcome. You may not need the normal entry requirements.

Access courses
The College runs Access courses leading to higher education in Biology, Business, Computing and IT, Engineering Technology, Health and Medical Studies (leading to Nursing, Radiography and Human Nutrition), Maths and Computing, Podiatry, Science and Technology, Science and Technology (Animal Studies), Social Sciences.

Part time study
There are part time day and evening courses, and a range of distance learning courses.

Did you know?
Stow College
      • hosts the Glasgow Chinese School on Saturday mornings – some 400 pupils in 20 classes study Chinese languages and culture
      • will host the College of Piping during the next year or so, while its own premises are refurbished

      • runs the Glasgow Fiddle Workshop, promoting traditional fiddle music
