About The University:
Robert Gordon, an 18th century Aberdeen merchant, willed his estate to set up a school for boys, believing that education would equip them to succeed in Europe and beyond. In 1992 this school became The Robert Gordon University.
It is a modern, stimulating place providing high quality education. It has strong links with industry and courses are geared to the changing industrial climate.
The University has 2 campuses – Schoolhill in the city centre and Garthdee on the south side.
It teaches almost 150 courses, in 3 Faculties
- Design and Technology – Scott Sutherland School and Gray’s School of Art (both at Garthdee), Computing and Engineering
- Health and Social Care – Applied Social Studies, Health Sciences, Nursing and Midwifery (all at Garthdee), Pharmacy and Life Sciences
- Aberdeen Business School – Business, Communication and Media, Hotel and Tourism and Law (all in a purpose built centre at Garthdee)
The University has particular expertise in Business, Communication, Computing, Design, Engineering, Health and Pharmacy.
There are about 9,000 students

Many courses include a European language. If your course does not, you can still study a language through the Centre for Modern Languages.
