About The College:
Reid Kerr College is a large community college in central Paisley. It provides education and training for people of all ages. The College is strategically situated on the doorstep of both Glasgow International Airport and the M8 motorway and serviced by excellent bus and rail links.
The College runs courses ranging from National Qualifications to Higher National Certificates and Diplomas.
Courses run in the following
- Communication, Humanities and Languages
- Hospitality, Hairdressing and Beauty
- Science, Sport, Health and Care
There are about 12,000 students
- 3,000 on evening or flexible courses
- some from Europe, Africa, India, Malaysia, China, and Japan
Support for learning
Every student has a class tutor to support academic work. You meet your tutor regularly, on your own.
The Study Centre offers help with communication, number work and study skills.
The Student Development Unit offers extra support to students with physical disabilities or special learning needs, including dyslexia. The Centre for Alternative Technology has specialist equipment for disabled students.
Child care
The College Nursery takes children from 2 to 5 years. The College may also be able to help fund registered child care elsewhere.
Mature entrants
Mature entrants are welcome. You may not need the normal entry requirements.
Access courses
There are Access courses leading to higher education in Humanities (including Arts, Communication and Media, and Social Sciences); Nursing (for courses at University of Paisley); and Primary Education.
Part time study
Part time courses are run day and evening. There is a wide range of distance and flexible learning courses.
Community courses
The College runs day, evening and weekend courses at over 60 local centres.
