About The College:
North Glasgow College has over 40 years of teaching experience. It is one of the main providers of further education in Scotland.
The College is committed to widening access to those from disadvantaged groups.
It runs over 100 courses, at levels from Access and National Qualification to Higher National Diploma, through the following faculties
- Care, Science and Early Education
- Construction Technologies
- Creative and Applied Arts
- Lifelong Learning and Humanities
- Management, Business and Sport
It has 6,000 students
- 4,000 block release and part-time
- some from overseas, often to study English for Speakers of Other Languages
As a member of the Glasgow Community Colleges Group, its students have progression routes into higher education.
Support for learning
Group Tutors and Student Services provide support for study, advising on learning and study skills. There is additional help with core skills and extra support for students with disabilities or special learning needs.
Child care
The College does not have a nursery, but may be able to help fund registered child care elsewhere.
Mature entrants
Increasing numbers of mature students are welcomed. You may not need normal entry requirements.
Access courses
The College runs Access courses leading to higher education in Community Education (also Social Sciences and Primary Teaching), Computing and Maths, Nursing, Science and Technology, Secondary Teaching.
Part time study
The College runs part time courses, day and evening and flexible learning courses.
Community courses
Courses run in some 22 local centres in the north of Glasgow, including family and women’s centres, and drug rehabilitation centres.
Learning Centres at Possil, Balgrayhill and Barmulloch are particularly well equipped.
