About The College:
Inverness College is the largest college in the Highlands and Islands. It is an academic partner of the UHI Millennium Institute (UHI).
The College has 4 campuses in Inverness, including a Management Centre and the School of Forestry. It has further education centres in Dingwall and Portree, and an aquaculture centre at Kishorn. In Fort William, it runs courses with Lochaber College.
Courses range from introductory and National Certificates to degrees. There are 5 academic schools
- Arts, Culture and Heritage
- Engineering and Computing
- Health and Social Studies
and a Centre for Rural Resource Management
The College has some 8,500 students, from a variety of countries.
Applying to Inverness College
Because this College is a UHI partner, you apply through UCAS for courses at Higher National Certificate and above.
Support for learning
There is learning support available to all students. The ‘Study Skills Workbook’ gives advice on getting good results.
The Supported Learning Team assists students who have a disability or learning difficulty. Special arrangements can be made if necessary.
Child care
The College provides child care for children aged 6 weeks to 5 years at Longman and Midmills campuses in Inverness.
Mature entrants
Mature students are welcome on full time and part time courses.
Access courses
There are Access courses leading to Higher National courses in Civil Engineering, Computer Technology, Construction, and to the Diploma in Higher Education in Nursing.
Part time study
Part time courses run both day and evening.
There is a wide range of open learning courses. The College publishes a separate Open Learning Guide.
