About The College:
Glasgow Metropolitan College was launched in February 2005, when Glasgow College of Building and Printing merged with Glasgow College of Food Technology.
It is the first new college in Scotland for 10 years and has 5 campuses – 2 in the city centre, 2 in the east end and 1 just south of the river.
Courses range from National Certificate through Higher National Certificate and Diploma to degrees.

Specialisms include Art and Design, Building, Events, Food and Hospitality, Furniture and Crafts, Media, Photography and Television, Printing, Sports, Travel and Tourism.
It has:
some 20,000 students
500 overseas students from more than 40 countries
over 500 staff.

Child care
The College does not have a nursery, but may be able to help fund registered child care elsewhere.
Mature entrants
Mature students are welcome. Contact the College to discuss your position.
Access courses
The College runs Access courses for higher education in Food Science, Food Technology and Environmental Health.
Part time study
Part time courses run both day and evening. There are some courses on Saturday mornings.
There are some open and flexible learning courses. Many use multi-media self-learning packages.
Community courses
There are some courses in local community centres. Learning groups are small and meet at times to suit members. Contact the College for details.
Portfolios
For entry to some courses you need a portfolio. Portfolio classes run in evenings and on Saturday mornings.
