About The College:
Ayr College was founded in the early 1940s to serve the community in Ayrshire. It moved to its present site in 1965 and has been continuously updated.
The College aims to meet the needs of individuals and community groups. It has strong links with local industries and has recently opened the new Ayrshire Business, IT and Design Centre.
There are 2 annexes, at Cumnock and Girvan.
The College teaches a wide range of subjects, leading to qualifications including Highers, National Certificates, Scottish Vocational Qualifications, Higher National Certificates and Higher National Diplomas.

There are about 7,000 students attending full or part-time.
The College runs several courses starting in January, including
introductory access courses, for entry to other college courses

Support for learning
There is academic support for students who have difficulties.
The Support Team can help students with disabilities including dyslexia, physical or health problems, or visual and hearing impairments.
Child care
The Bright Sparks Nursery currently takes children aged 2 to 5. This may be extended to include 1-2 year olds.
Mature entrants
Mature entrants are welcome – you may not need the normal entry requirements.
Access courses
The College runs an Access course leading to a Higher National course in Social Sciences.
Part time study
Part time courses are run, both day and evening. The Flexible Learning Unit is open to members of the public.
