About The University:
The Financial Times has consistently ranked the University of Abertay Dundee in the top 10 modern universities - it was 6th in 2003.
The University was founded in 1888, as the Dundee Technical Institute and was recognised as an 'industrial university' in 1902. It became a university in its own right in 1994.
The University runs courses in
a wide range of subjects including business, computing and creative technologies, contemporary sciences and social and health sciences

Food Innovation @ Abertay - a practical supportive innovation service for the Scottish Food & Drink Industry
UWTC - (Urban Water Technology Centre) - developing innovative new drainage and pollution-control technology
SIMBIOS (Scottish Informatics, Mathematics, Biology and Statistics Centre) - (with the University of Dundee) applying mathematical models to environmental and biomedical processes
ACE (Abertay Centre for the Environment) - helping businesses with environmental issues
Support for learning

Child care
There is no nursery at present, but the University is working with a nearby childcare centre to provide places for 2-5 year olds.
AHEAD - Access to Higher Education at Dundee
This free evening course is for adults with few or no educational qualifications.
It runs from September or February until June - the February course is more intensive - and gives entry to several degree courses
Taster days
These give senior school pupils
an overview of the university including a tour of the library
a variety of hands-on activities, depending on the department(s) visited
Advanced entry
Abertay has strong links with local FE Colleges - if you have a Higher National Certificate or Higher National Diploma you will be considered for direct entry to a relevant degree course at year 2 or 3. The University runs a transition programme to help you settle in.
Part time and flexible learning
Many undergraduate courses are divided into modules which can be studied part time during the day.
