Students may study Ancient History at various levels in a wide range of combinations, and no previous knowledge of the ancient world or of an ancient language is required. They may study First and Second level modules as part of a General Degree, or as qualifying modules for a Joint Honours Degree in Ancient History with another subject, or for the Single Honours Degree in Ancient History, or Ancient History and Archaeology. First and Second level modules in Ancient History may also serve together with similar modules in other historical subjects as qualifying elements for the Honours History Degree, in which modules in Ancient History are available. Many subjects may be combined with Ancient History in a Joint Honours Degree. Thus students wishing to pursue degrees and courses with other subjects have every facility to do so.
